Sci-fi, mysterious, funny, dramatic, dreams that I see :P

When you want something from heart, whole world will unite to give you.

I believed in this statement but I always gave it a realistic twist. I have experienced it at times in my life, that when I was too determined for something, I got it. But I did not name it as achievement, because my the time I got it, I figured that there were many strings attached to it, which I didn’t want.

So after a few accomplishments and analysis post each, I figured that what I aimed for in first place wasnt full proof. I had not thought of all use cases and some other options which might be more attractive.

Hence by the time I achieved  those milestones, I wasnt to keen about it or moved to new challenges.

Now, I am extra careful before making any wishes. Because I still strongly believe

When you want something from heart, the world will unite to give you.

I guess my this analysis has made me little laidback..yes u read it right. Since I have become too cautious of “attached strings” along with “wishes”..the whole essence of passion to simply do it is fading.

Am I too confused ?? Mabbe…But that’s the current phase…!!

I am sure till will change with new experiences and time. Till then… Keep Wishing for the Best!!

The Last Lecture

Frankly speaking, I had never heard of this book or lecture. Once, while scanning through some light reading books in library, I found this most amazing book.

I think, this is a timeless book. One can read it time and again to remind oneself of most beautiful and important things in life.

The Last Lecture

The Last Lecture - Randy Pausch

Randy’s lecture has become a phenomenon, as has the book he wrote based on the same principles, celebrating the dreams we all strive to make realities.

Hypothetically, if you knew that you were going to die and you had one last lecture, what would you say to your students?  It is an academic tradition of Professor Randy Pausch’s University to give a “last lecture” to the students except it was not just a tradition in his case; he is actually dying from cancer and only has months to live.  My friend from work, SF, has forwarded a YouTube video to me and in this Oprah episode, Randy Pausch talked about our childhood dreams, how to achieve them, and in essence, how to live our lives.  And he gave the lecture for only three persons in this world (the answer is in the video).  If you have 10 minutes to spare, you may wish to follow the link below and be inspired.  Below are the summarized points.

  • It is an easy time to dream when we are young (and happy) and we should never lose that spirit.
  • Experience is what you get if you don’t get what you wanted.
  • When people drive you hard, they care about you.  They want you to be better.  When you are doing a bad job and no one points it out to you, that is when they have given up on you.
  • Brick walls are there for a reason: they let us prove how badly we want things.
  • Good parents are instrumental for us to achieve our childhood dreams.
  • The importance of people versus things (people come first, always!).
  • Never ever underestimate the importance of having fun.  Choose to have fun today, tomorrow, and every day thereafter.
  • Work and play well with others: (1) tell the truth, (2) apologize (properly), (3) wait, and people will show their good sides.
  • Tell the truth – integrity.
  • A good apology has three parts.  (a) I am sorry, (b) it was my fault, (c) how do I make it right.  Most people neglect the third part and fail to demonstrate sincerity.
  • Be patience.  No one is pure evil.
  • Show gratitude.
  • Don’t complain, just work harder.
  • If you lead your life the right way, if you live properly, the dreams will come to you.

Excerpt from Wilfrid Wong.

Ignited Minds

I bought this book quite some time back on my usual books shopping day! Though I wanted to read Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam’s book since long, finally I laid my hands on one.

I am fan of Mr. Kalam, quite inspired by his life’s work, dreams, vision and contribution to the society, especially focus on students to develop better India. During my engineering college days, we had visited events hosted by him for students, where tens of thousands of students attended and heard lectures from him.

Ignited Minds - Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

Ignited Minds

To add to influence he has on my life, I got another chance to attend a close event hosted by TCS where Dr . A . P. J. Kalam was chief guest. He was invited at TCS Europe Head Office for some inauguartion and I happened to be posted there at same time. The high values in thoughts and simplicity in his talks, gets hime connected to each and every person he meets. He had no prepared speech, he spoke from heart and awed us completely with his thoughts.

There was a high energy level left in the room, a feel of inspiration & dedication could be sensed. I salute him.

His books not only give inspiration by true life experiences from his own life, but also give strength and faith on  dreams and provide a mission to life. He rules on hearts and souls of milloins of Indian.
In this book the president answers to the questions by student about life and dreams and the various questions by the young minds,on the educational system. It will intrust learning in todays youth and children in the right direction.
