Choco Rolls

This weekend my chocolate pangs got over me and I decided to treat myself with choco rolls.

I must say, it’s fairly simple and quickest recipe that I have ever tried.

Ingredients include:

  • A Pack of Marie biscuits
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Choco powder /Chocolate
  • Grated Coconut – 1/2 cup
  • 1/2 milk
  • Vanilla essence (optional)

Take pack of marie biscuits and powder them in a mixer. Add 1 tbsp choco powder/ melted chocolate. Add 3 tbsp sugar. Mix well. Slowly add little milk and make a dough with softness like roti dough.

Choco Rolls

Take grated coconut, add 1 tbsp sugar, add 2 drops of vanilla essence.

Take biscuit dough and spread like big elongated roti,( you can use roller-pin), but thicker than traditional roti. Sprinkle add the coconut mixture on this. Slowly roll back the Base to form tight rolled tubes.

Put this in refrigerator for 10 mins. Take out and cut it horizontally.

Enjoy your yummy choco rolls dessert!!

Mysore Dosa

I happen to be big fan of South Indian food. I guess that’s inherited from my Dad, whose fan quotient cannot be beaten. 🙂

I like experimenting with my Dosas. But had not learnt the art of making good Mysore dosa.
Finally a recipe from a friend did the trick.
I don’t want to bore you with dosa making stuff, but I shall show the secret behind the Mysore chutney that is spread across the hot dosa.

Urad dal: 1/2 tbsp
Dry Red chillies – 8-10
Imli (Tamarind) – 2 tbsp pulp
Garlic – 4-5 pods
Onion – 1/2 cup
Jaggery – 1 tbsp
Salt to taste.

Goondh Cake

okay…the Name does not sound Interesting.
But as the old saying goes “Dont go by the Name”. You ought to eat it to love it.
First:  its just a 10 min sweet dish. Second: You can store this for more than 15-20 days.
My mom made this and I was sold on above to points. Here goes the magic potion:


Goondh: 1 cup (Powdered)
Sugar: 1.5 cup (Powdered)
Wheat flour: 1 cup
Desi Ghee or Non-salted Butter: 1 cup

Mix the above ingredients in a bowl with spatula. Pre-heat the tawa/hot-plate/microwave oven for 180 C or 5 mins. Put this mixture into Aluminium tin/cake tin and place this on the hot-plate and cover it. Keep this for 10 mins. You will be able to sense the sweet smell of the crispy cake.

P.S. You can add sliced nuts, elachi.

Tada! We are done.
